The Chamber of Commerce is a 501c6 nonprofit organization designed to represent the interests of business members to the local, state and federal government. Chambers of Commerce are private, member run associations.
The city is a local government; authorized by the state of California. Cities are public organizations run by a city council elected by the voters within their jurisdiction.
Membership is available to any business, organization or government entity that wishes to support the Chamber’s mission and take advantage of the services and benefits provided by the organization.
Yes, the SBCOC is open to all businesses and members can belong to more than one Chamber.
We are not a part of the City of Solana Beach.
We are not a part of any other Chamber organization, either local or national.
We are not involved in political lobby efforts or campaigns.
We do not endorse candidates.
The SBCOC is registered as a 501c(6) organization. Membership in the Chamber may be tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. None of your dues goes toward a paid lobbyist. Please check with your tax professional. (IRS Publication 529)
All businesses with a home address, business address or conducting business in Solana Beach are required to obtain a business certificate issued by the City of Solana Beach. You can complete a business certificate application form online; however, all applications must be delivered to the City, as applications are not accepted via the Internet.

City Hall’s Hours of Operation is as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Every Other Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Closed alternate Fridays
- Closed on Observed Holidays
